FLINT – Jolie Brochu thought she deserved better within the last few two Division 3 state tennis tournaments.
This the Powers Catholic senior is hoping to make up for that year.
“The final couple of years, i acquired kind of gypped,” said Brochu, that is now a senior at Powers. “Sophomore year, I tied and went as a playoff and destroyed year that is then last shot 1-under but still lost.”
Now, she really wants to use the final action and get to be the 4th specific girls champ in Powers’ history.
Brochu happens to be the Chargers’ top player since she joined school that is high.
She tied for eighth within the state competition being a freshman before being the runner-up the final 2 yrs. She made the Division 3 All-State first group as a freshman and sophomore before generally making the Super Team a year ago.
Predicated on her performances the past 36 months, she’ll be among the list of favorites to win the unit 3 state name as soon as the competition is held Oct. 16-17 at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek. Her top competition will more than likely be Shannon Kennedy of Birmingham Marian, whom edged Brochu by three shots in last year’s competition.
Kennedy won’t be an easy task to beat. As well as winning year’s that is last title, she ended up being the Division 2 person champion as a freshman in 2017 before finishing tied up for 3rd in D2 as being a sophomore.
